Mark Teahen hit a ball to shortstop to Edgar Renteria who had an error on the plate that allowed Esteban German to score the game winning run in the eighth inning.  That is how the Royals came back and beat the Tigets on Tuesday night by the score of 3-2.

The Royals got down 2-0 early in the game as Zack Greinke gave up two early runs but then settled down as he pitched six innings.  Greinke ended up taking home the no decision in the game.  Leo Nunez improved to 3-0 on the season as he picked up the win in relief.  Joakim Soria pitched the ninth inning as he picked up his ninth save of the season.

Jose Guillen had the first two rbi in the game for the Royals when he doubled in the third inning to get the Royals on the board.  Those were the only two runs the Royals got until the eighth inning when they scored on the error by Renteria.

The Kansas City Royals came out of the gates swinging in the first couple of innings as they quickly got a 5-0 lead on the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night as they went onto beat the Rangers 9-5.  It was nice to see the Royals score so many runs in the first five innings of the game as it kept the pressure on the Rangers who couldn’t quite respond and take the lead.

Jose Guillen had a team high five RBI in the game includind a two run home run in the fourth inning.  Mark Teahen finished the game with three RBI while Ross Gload had one RBI in the game.  Where would the Royals have been without Guillen in this game?  On the losing side I’m thinking.

Royals starting pitcher Brett Tomko got roughed up in only 3.1 innings as he gave up seven hits and five runs.  Tomko walked three batters and struckout three batters.  Ron Mahey pitched 2.1 innings of relief after Tomko left the game to pick up the win.

The Royals are now 12-14 on the season as they try once again to get to that .500 mark.

The Kansas City Royals had some troubles against the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday night as they lost the Angels 5-3.  The Royals just weren’t able to get much going against Angels starter Jon Garland.

Brett Tomko took the loss for the Royals even though he threw the ball pretty good.  He pitched seven innings and gave up five earned runs on six hits.  Ron Mahay pitched the eigth inning and gave up two hits.

David DeJesus and Jose Guillen both had an RBI for the Royals.

The Kansas City Royals weren’t able to complete a three game sweep of the New York Yankees as they lost 6-1 on Thursday night.  Give the Royals credit however, they did take two of three against the loaded roster of the Yankees.  Very good showing by the Royals!

John Bale pitched six inning and gave up four earned runs on eight hits and to take the loss.  He did give up one home run to Melky Cabrera in the game.  Hideo Nomo came in to pitch the final three innings and he gave up two earned runs that were both solo home runs.  Alex Rodriguez and Jorge Posada both went deep in the 9th inning off of Nomo.

The only offense the Royals got was in the 1st inning as Jose Guillen doubled and scored Mark Teahen.  Other then that, the Royals offense was pretty silent the entire game.

The Kansas City Royals were not able to extend their record to 4-0 on the season as they lost to the Minnesota Twins by the score of 4-3 on Friday evening.  Now the Royals record stands at 3-1, but I think if you ask any Royals fan, they would take that record in a second!

Jose Guillen, Billy Butler, and John Buck each had one RBI for the Royals, but they just couldn’t get that big hit to put them over the top.  I still like the way they are hitting the ball, and good things will come if they keep putting the ball in play.

John Bale picked up the loss for the Royals.  Bale pitched 6.1 innings giving up four earned runs.  He didn’t pitch too badly, just a couple of mistakes that he will need to learn from and hopefully they won’t happen in his next outing.

Brian Bannister and the Kansas City Royals held down the powerful Detroit Tigers once again on Wednesday.  With the win, the Royals move to 2-0 on the young season.

Bannister threw seven shutout innings.  He only allowed three hits, which all came off the bat of Edgar Renteria.  Bannister struck out 4 while not allowing a walk.  You gotta love that!

Billy Butler lead the Royals at the plate with two RBI’s while Jose Guillen and Mark Teahen had one RBI each.
