The Kansas City Royals jumped out to a 3-0 lead after three innings but then went onto lose to the Los Angeles Angels 5-3 on Tuesday night.  Another up and down game for the Royals, just like there entire season as been.

Brian Bannister took the loss for the Royals and feel to 3-4 on the season.  Bannister gave up thirteen hits and five runs in 6 2/3 innings of action.  Bannister got it often, and got hit hard all game long.  Ron Mahay and Jimmy Gobble finished the game out giving up one hit each.

Alex Gordon led the Royals at the plate as he went 2-3 with a RBI and a walk.  Miguel Olivo and Ross Gload also had one RBI in the game.

The Royals will try to avoid the sweep on Wednesday as they face the Angels once again.

The Kansas City Royals used three runs in the first couple of innings to beat the Los Angeles Angels 3-2 on Wednesday night.  Gil Meche pitched an outstanging ballgame for the Royals who improved their record to 9-6 on the season with the win.

Meche picked up his first win of the season after pitching six inning and giving up six hits and two earned runs.  Meche said he finally put away batters unlike his last few starts.  Joakim Soria picked up his fifth save after closing the door on the Angels in the ninth.

Billy Butler and Alex Gordon had one RBI each for the Royals.  Nice to see the two young stars contributing and putting runs up on the scoreboard.

The Kansas City Royals fell to the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night by the score of 11-6.  Usually when your pitching staff gives up eleven runs, you are going to lose the game just like the Royals did.

John Bale took the loss the for Royals and is now 0-3 on the season.  Bale only lasted three inning as he gave up seven hits and three earned runs.  The Royals relievers really weren’t much better as Hideo Nomo gave up four earned runs, Ron Mahay and Yasuhiko Yabuta both gave up one earned run.  Terrible job by the pitching staff against the Mariners…

At the plate for the Royals, Tony Pena led the team with two RBI’s.  David DeJesus, Billy Butler, Alex Gordon, and Ross Gload all had one RBI each.

The Royals record is now 8-6.  Lets see how long they stay above the .500 mark.  Any guesses?

Wow, who would have thought that the Kansas City Royals would have swept the Detroit Tigers to open the 2008 season?  Great pitching and timely hitting helped the Royals move to 3-0 on the season.

Zack Greinke picked up the win and Joakim Soria picked up his second save of the season.  Greinke pitched seven innings and allowing six hits and only one earned run.  Great performance by Greinke today!

Alex Gordon and Mark Teahen both hit homeruns for the Tigers today.  Gordon hit a 2 run shot in the 4th inning and Teahen hit a solo homerun in the 6th.  In the 7th inning, Carlos Guillen singled in Joey Gathwright.

Great job Royals!
