The Kansas City Royals have placed outfielder David DeJesus on the 15-day disabled list and recalled outfielder Alex Gordon from Triple-A Omaha. DeJesus sprained his right thumb crashing into the fence in center field on Thursday night in Yankee Stadium, a play that resulted in an inside-the-park home run for Derek Jeter.
